First 5K: The Color Run

Wow, am I sore. But I still have a huge endorphin high!

I ran the LA Color Run with my little sister yesterday, and it was a BLAST! I am so excited for next year! I can't wait to do this again.

No Hip Pain

I'm very proud of myself for surviving this run. I made the entire distance without any hip pain, which was a HUGE accomplishment. I don't even care that I wasn't able to run the entire way. I made it, I was colorful, and I was in minimal pain.

It took months of hip strengthening exercises and the epiphany last month that I needed to stretch all the muscles in my hips. Splits, here I come! It never occurred to me that a huge portion of the pain I was experiencing came from being under-stretched. It all "clicked" for me when I heard my hips pop back into place when I first attempted the splits.

Color Run

All the pictures you see on Pinterest of people covered in colored cornstarch? Just as much fun as the pictures seem. Just check out the pictures of me: 





I got what a few runners referred to as "pink-eye". Meaning I got hit almost right in the eye by some pink cornstarch stuff. It was awesome! And I was definitely colorful.

I can't wait until I'm not sore anymore so I can train for my next 5k. I'm addicted now.
